Landmarc Real Estate is managed by a team of experienced industry professionals who take pride in offering unparalleled customer service. Their varied backgrounds in association and property management, finance, and the development of commercial and residential real estate allow them a unique insight into managing a wide array of communities, as well as clients of commercial brokerage and lease management.

Our Executive Leadership Team includes:

Gail Fernett, CEO

Gail Fernett entered the community management field in 1997 as an Onsite Facilities Manager for a development in the Fredericksburg area with over 2000 homes.  Due to her success in this position, she was quickly promoted to Onsite General Manager. She remained in an onsite role for several more years and managed two other large communities before becoming a shareholder of Landmarc Real Estate in 2004.

After becoming a partner, Gail began her role as Vice President and Director of Management Services.  Through Gail’s dedication and commitment to excellence, Landmarc Real Estate grew 20% per year from 2004-2011. After nearly an 18 year business relationship with her partner, Gail purchased the business in 2012 and became sole owner of the company. Gail also handles the majority of the marketing for Landmarc. She takes particular pride in the fact that many of Landmarc’s new clients are earned through referrals.

Throughout her career, Gail has made education a priority and her credentials are a testament to her commitment to the industry. She has earned the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®), Association Management Specialist (AMS®), and the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM®) designation from the Community Associations Institute (CAI). The PCAM is the highest designation bestowed by CAI.  It is earned by those in the industry who want to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, commitment to continuing education, experience, and a high level of industry knowledge.

Through her involvement in CAI, Gail has volunteered for the Washington Metropolitan Chapter Community Associations Institute’s (WMCCAI) Education Committee (past chairperson) and the WMCCAI Expo and Conference. Her continued involvement in these organizations enables her to stay current on changes in the industry and provide unique insights for Landmarc’s clients into the challenging field of community association management.

For all of her success, Gail is perhaps best known for her integrity and humanitarianism. Not only does she provide a fun and fruitful place to work for her staff, regularly doling out treats and pumping up office morale, she also contributes regularly to Fredericksburg area non-profit organizations.  With her upbeat attitude and her constant smile, Gail is quick to remind everyone to reach for the sky. She remains committed to providing professional, personal, and above and beyond service to all Landmarc clients.

Ryan Fernett, President

Fernett graduated from Bridgewater College with a BA in Business and a minor in Economics. Soon after, he began with Landmarc as a Community Manager and became engaged in procurement, contract negotiations, benefit administration, as well as condominium association and boutique-style community management. Fernett is a member of the Washington Metropolitan Chapter of CAI Virginia Legislative Committee, and he holds CMCA and AMS designations.

Maria Burdan, Vice President of Financial Services

Maria joined the Landmarc Real Estate team in 2002. Through her education at Christopher Newport University, which earned her a BS in Accounting, and her post-graduate training and specialization in community association accounting, Maria earned the title Vice President of Financial Services in 2013. She previously acted as Director of Accounting beginning in 2004. Maria maintains high quality accounting standards in all facets of community association financial management and accounting services from general ledger management and financial statement preparation, accounts payable and collections.
